XLRI gears up for National Working Conference on Social Entrepreneurship
Jamshedpur (The Pioneer) January 28: The premier B-school XLRI is gearing up to play host to the second National “Working Conference on Social Entrepreneurship” from January 29. Vijoy Prakash, Prinicipal Secretary, Rural Development, Government of Bihar would deliver the inaugural address of the three-day event.
Stage set for MAXI Fair, XLRI to conduct market research
January 16 (The Pioneer): The Marketing Association of XLRI, popularly known as MAXI, is all set to organise its annual MAXI fair on January 17. Started in 1979, the fair is a unique and innovative approach to conduct market research in a fun format.
Officials of MAXI informed that this year, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and Tata Main Hospital (TMH) are taking part in the fair. While HUL wants to understand consumer behaviour and preferences in its face care category, TMH wants to determine the factors which drive or inhibit the people from visiting their hospital.
Inauguration of Indian Academy of Management Conference @ XLRI
Jamshedpur, Dec. 28 (The Telegraph): The inaugural session of the first conference of Indian Academy of Management at Tata Auditorium today saw corporate honchos sharing their knowledge of religion, mythology and Bhagvad Gita which they have used for better management.
XLRI hosted the first conference of Indian Academy of Management — an autonomous body founded along the lines of the US-based Academy of Management with the idea of promoting research work and studies in management and also to serve as a platform for all B-schools to share ideas.
Corporate Honchos to attend Conference at XLRI
JAMSHEDPUR (The Times of India, Dec 27): Perhaps for the first time, the XLRI, a premier business school of the country, has got the opportunity to host the conference of the
Indian Academy of Management (IAoM), the apex body of the management institutes pursuing the agenda of narrowing the gap between academia and practitioners in India, in the Steel city from Monday.
The three-day conference will witness the congregation of big and famous corporate honchos with several alumni of the IIMs, ISB, MDI and host XLRI chairing the boards of different divisions.
Aggressive Growth Plan on XLRI Radar
Jamshedpur, Nov. 21 (The Telegraph): XLRI is planning to go big in the next few years.
Along with developing academic strength and infrastructure, alumni members of the 1983 batch have decided to set up an Endowment Fund for the growth of the institute, which will be open to all batches.
These and other plans were shared at one of the sessions of XLRI Homecoming 2009, the annual alumni meet on campus that began today, organised by XLRI Alumni Association.
XLRI's Alumni to raise Rs 5 Crore Endowment Fund
Jamshedpur (Financial Express, Nov 20, '09): Alumni of the XLRI School of Business & Human Resources will be here soon to attend the Homecoming 2009, a re-union the B-School has been hosting for the last five years. They are raising an endowment fund to improve the B-School’s infrastructure.
The fund was initiated in 2008 by the 1983 batch. They will be contributing Rs 1 crore, which would subsequently go up to Rs 5 crore.

XLRI conducts Simulated Bond Auction
JAMSHEDPUR (Nov 6,'09, Times of India): XLRI School of Business and Human Resources simulated a simultaneous auction along with the Rs 90-billion government securities auction by the RBI on Friday.
The bond auction game was conceptualised and designed by professor of finance H K Pradhan as a part of the fixed income securities course conducted by him. The idea was to give the students a practical feel of the bond market to help them better imbibe the concepts in the course.
XLRI receives SAQS Accreditation
XLRI became the 5th Instt in India, and 6th in South Asia, to receive the SAQS Accreditation.... the whole process took around 4 years!! SAQS is among the 4 global accreditations (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA). Last year, XLRI was given membership to AACSB, which is but a first step in its goal of AACSB Accreditation.
