Jamshedpur, Aug 31 (The Telegraph): Global work exposure as main course and Belgian chocolates for dessert? Trust XLRI students to get the best of both worlds.

Under the international students’ exchange programme, 44 B-school students — a sharp spike compared to 13 students last year and nine the year before — will visit 18 European universities and institutes in United Kingdom, Germany, France and Belgium for a three-month term. In fact, partner universities and institutes have also increased this year — last year, it was five and the year before, three.

Jamshedpur (August 12, The Pioneer): Vanita Viswanath, the CEO of Udyogini, in an interaction with the students of XLRI on Wednesday said that to make the ventures of the women entrepreneurs sustainable, it is more appropriate to focus on helping the women enterprise groups to systematise and innovate business processes for efficiency and cost-cutting, than on merely increasing the “turnover”.

Jamshedpur (The Pioneer, Aug 7): With an aim to promote the leadership development in the health sector, the premier B-school XLRI is conducting a two-day workshop for public health professionals dealing in reproductive health.

The Appreciative Assessment and Reinforcement Workshop, started on Friday, is being held with the support of the David and Lucile- Packard Foundation for the past participants of this inittiative. The two jointly began work on the issue of Leadership Development for Reproductive Health Professionals in 2009.

Hyderabad, Aug 4 : Apollo Hospitals Group has announced its partnership with XLRI Jamshedpur to conduct management programmes for Apollo’s practicing managers.

Apollo Hospitals Group Executive Director (Operations) Sangita Reddy and XLRI Jamshedpur Director Fr E Abraham S J have signed the MoU yesterday to mark the partnership at Apollo Health City here.

The tie-up is a part of Apollo’s Talent Management Programme that aims to nurture in-house talent.

XLRI gears up for National Working Conference on Social Entrepreneurship

Jamshedpur (The Pioneer) January 28: The premier B-school XLRI is gearing up to play host to the second National “Working Conference on Social Entrepreneurship” from January 29. Vijoy Prakash, Prinicipal Secretary, Rural Development, Government of Bihar would deliver the inaugural address of the three-day event.

Stage set for MAXI Fair, XLRI to conduct market research

January 16 (The Pioneer): The Marketing Association of XLRI, popularly known as MAXI, is all set to organise its annual MAXI fair on January 17. Started in 1979, the fair is a unique and innovative approach to conduct market research in a fun format.

Officials of MAXI informed that this year, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and Tata Main Hospital (TMH) are taking part in the fair. While HUL wants to understand consumer behaviour and preferences in its face care category, TMH wants to determine the factors which drive or inhibit the people from visiting their hospital.

Inauguration of Indian Academy of Management Conference @ XLRI

Jamshedpur, Dec. 28 (The Telegraph): The inaugural session of the first conference of Indian Academy of Management at Tata Auditorium today saw corporate honchos sharing their knowledge of religion, mythology and Bhagvad Gita which they have used for better management.

XLRI hosted the first conference of Indian Academy of Management — an autonomous body founded along the lines of the US-based Academy of Management with the idea of promoting research work and studies in management and also to serve as a platform for all B-schools to share ideas.
