Ranchi-Jamshedpur highway to have four lanes

New Delhi, Aug 27 (Calcutta Tube) The government approved four laning of a section of the national highway connecting Ranchi and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand at an estimated cost of Rs.1,479 crore.

This will help reduce the time and cost of travel between the state capital and the industrial town.

‘The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure approved the implementation of the project of four laning of Ranchi-Rargaon-Jamshedpur section of NH-33 from 113.73 km to 277.5 km,’ said an official statement.

Change in train routes

ALLAHABAD: Routes and timings of some trains have been changed due to stoppage of train movement from 10pm to 5am on the Kharagpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Addra railway sections till August 3.

Train number 2802 New Delhi-Puri Puroshattam Express will ply on the route of Gomo-Bokaro-Purnia-Tata and will be stationed at Tatanagar till 5am. Train number 2819 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Orissa Sampark Kranti Express will depart at 10pm instead of its scheduled departure at 3:40pm on August 1.

Kharagpur Tatanagar train services resumes

Kolkata : Jun 10: Trains including Mumbai-Howrah Duronto Express, which were stopped last night resumed their journey on the Kharagpur-Tatanagar section in West Midnapore district in West Bengal. The trains were stopped, following the hint that Maoists were planning to target the train.

Howrah-Tatanagar Steel Express and Tatanagar-Kharagpur passenger trains have resumed their journey at around 8:00 am on Thursday, Jun 10, after being halted at Kalaikunda on Wednesday, Jun 9 night. Duranto Express left Tatanagar station at 7:55 am and is expected to reach Howrah by 11 am.

Train drivers resolve not to drive in night

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), May 28 (PTI) In the wake of the attack on Gyaneshwari Express in West Bengal, the All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) today decided that the drivers would not run trains through Maoist affected areas in the night till adequate security was guaranteed.

"AILRSA has decided not to run trains in passing through rebel stronghold areas in the night till adequate security arrangements are made in the trains," the Association said in a memorandum submitted to Raveindra Gupta, (Chakradharpur) Divisional Railway Manager of South Eastern Railway.

SER cancels Ispat Express and Janshatabdi Express

Kolkata, May 28 (PTI) In the wake of the Maoist attack on a Mumbai-bound train in West Midnapore district, the South Eastern Railway today cancelled the Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Express and Howrah-Jamshedpur Ispat Express.

The two trains have been cancelled as trains were not running between Howrah-Tatanagar after the Howrah-Kurla Gyaneswari Express derailed after a blast and was hit by a goods train coming from the opposite direction on the down tracks.

Behind schedule trains inconvenience passengers

KANPUR: Several trains were reported to be running late on the New Delhi-Howrah route on Friday due to the Naxal disturbance in Jharkhand.

The Naxal attack has affected the movement of the long distance trains on the busy New Delhi-Howrah route. Kanpur Central railway station witnessed huge crowd of passengers waiting for their trains.
