Jamshedpur, May 24: Parent-teacher meetings would soon be passé at Delhi Public School here. For, guardians would get detailed information about their wards’ progress just by a click.
The school today launched its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), a high-tech connection that would link all stakeholders, students, parents and the institution through a common platform and ensure maintenance of online record of operations.
Right from attendance to academics and co-curricular activities, the guardians of DPS students would be able to keep tabs on the performance of their wards using the IDs and PIN numbers they would be provided with.
An interactive voice response system would also be installed in the school so that those seeking information are furnished with all relevant details at any hour of the day, said the school authorities. “The web-based software will improve the communication between the departments in the school,” said Peu Chakraborty, the junior academic in-charge.
B.P. Khandelwal, the chairman of the local management committee of DPS, today also announced the shifting of the school premises to Turiabera — the new campus sprawling over 23 acres. The present campus would be converted into a hostel.
