Ranchi: These three attributes helped Jharkhand girls script a win at the 4th North Zone Floorball Tournament by defeating Uttaranchal at Town Hall today.
In the final, Jharkhand team scored three goals thanks to the efforts of Shazda Khatun and Deepika who scored two and one goals respectively. Uttaranchal could score only one. However, in the men’s final, Uttar Pradesh took an early lead of two goals against host Jharkhand. UP won the men’s title by 2-1.
“We tried to make the final lively and colourful by using music, lights and cheerleaders just like an international meet,” said Jharkhand Floorball Association general secretary U. Sahu. The eight partici- pating teams were Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
