Ranchi, Jan 28 (PTI) Jharkhand government today told the High Court that CBI probe into corruption charges against former chief minister Madhu Koda was not needed as investigations by Vigilance Bureau was satisfactory.
Filing an affidavit through a government official before the bench headed by Chief Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra, the state government said the vigilance probe was progressing satisfactorily.
The affidavit was filed after Durga Oraon, a resident of Ranchi who filed a PIL, sought CBI probe against Koda and some of his former cabinet colleagues, accusing them of amassing wealth disproportionate to their sources of income.
The affidavit also informed the court that Vigilance Bureau has issued warrants against Koda's so called aides -- Binod Sinha and Sanjay Choudhary.
Both Sinha and Choudhary, who have been evading arrests, also face warrants from Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department.
The court fixed February 4 for the next hearing.
