BJP disrupt work at Koda project site

JAMSHEDPUR: BJP workers on Monday forcibly suspended the ongoing work at the site of the proposed shopping mall in the posh area in Bistupur.

About 300 party members led by the party Bistupur block president Suranjan Rai raided the mall construction site and forced the supervisor to suspend the work with immediate effect.

It is learnt that the under-construction building by Balajee Realtors is a Rs 30-crore project carried out with the alleged illegally earned money of former CM Madhu Koda and his close aides.

The agitated BJP men also shouted slogans against former CM and threatened the contract workers to go home.

"At a time when cases against Koda and his aides are running in the Jharkhand High Court how can construction at the site go on. Despite the stay order in force, regular work is being carried out here," said Rai.

Police, who arrived at the site later, remained mute spectators as the BJP workers carried out their protest demonstration.

Insiders say that BJP workers would carry out such protest and forcibly suspend work at projects owned by Koda and his associates.
