Jamshedpur , June 9 Infrastructure for 34th National Games that has been deferred five times since 2007 and now scheduled to commence on November 21 in Jharkhand, will be ready on time as three-fourth of the work is already over, event&aposs technical committee said today.
" Only 25 per cent work outside the playing arena was yet to be completed. It will be really bad luck if the National Games did not take place in time,"chairman of the technical committee S M Bali told reporters here.
The Jharkhand Olympic Association (JOA) and National Games Organising Committee (NGOC) had announced last month that opening ceremony of the event will be held on November 21, instead of June 1 and the closing ceremony on December 5.
Stating that it is the last chance for the state to meet the deadline, Bali said that technical directors of all the disciplines have been asked to hold regular inspections.
"We want to compromise neither with the quality of the equipments nor the sports infrastructure,"he said.
However, he refused to comment on cracks appearing in several places in the newly-constructed stadium in Ranchi and alleged financial irregularities in the infrastructure development.
