NIT - Jamshedpur was founded in the year 1960. It is among the eight Regional Engineering Colleges established in 1960 as joint ventures between the Government of India and State Governments. National Institute of Technology ,Jamshedpur was formerly known as Regional Institute of Technology ,Jamshedpur. The Institute was fully taken over by the Central Government on 1st April, 2003 and renamed National Institute of Technology. The University offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Research degrees in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Management.
