(RTTNews) - India's biggest car-maker Maruti Suzuki India is planning to increase its head count and aims a total staff strength of 7,350 by the end of the year, reported PTI.
The company plans to fortify its research and development strength to 1,000 by 2010, the report added quoting Maruti Suzuki India or MSI Managing Executive Officer Administration S Y Siddiqui.
MSI has a head count of 7,200 at present. Impacted by the industry's slowdown, Tata Motors recently disengaged 700 temporary workers at its Jamshedpur plant.
MSI is planning to engage 30 to 40 employees in the Research & Development facility taking the total to 740 by the year-end. Currently, the division has 570 engineers.
