JAMSHEDPUR, INDIA: Jamshedpur IT Association (JITA) is gearing up to organizes its IT expo in Jamshedpur sometime during the second week of January and first week of February 2009.
Although at a preliminary stage in terms of planning, JITA plans to make the IT expo a gala event focusing solely on IT, keeping the long-time allied telecom sector out of the purview.
Commenting on the upcoming expo, Sailesh Singh, Secretary, JITA said, "Normally, the IT expo is scheduled post Durga Puja. However, this time another trade fair was held in mid-September with vendor and IT participation across the city. It would have been meaningless to plan the expo at that point of time. Thus, we have agreed to re-schedule it for early next year."
"Unlike any other expos in the upcoming markets which showcase other products other than IT, we are aiming to completely go for the IT segment. Shortly, JITA is going to hold a meeting to finalize the organizing committee for the expo and then the entire plan will be built up. However, in the next 10 days time, we will finalize the framework of the event," Singh added.
On the activities front, JITA has also been running an anti-piracy campaign favouring the use of genuine Microsoft software with Raj Rajnish, President, JITA taking the lead and asking all JITA members to purchase and sell genuine software only. The association is also educating customers on the use of genuine software.
