Spandan-2009 concludes on colourful note

VARANASI: The six-day annual inter-faculty youth festival `Spandan-2009' concluded on a colourful note in Banaras Hindu University, on
Monday.

The last day of the programme witnessed colourful events included folk and tribal dance competitions along with on the spot painting that attracted crowd on the occasion.

The event also changed the mood of the stadium giving it `Mini India' look with scintillating dance performances from students of various faculties and affiliated colleges in the university. The colourful folk dance competition witnessed ethnic tribal flavour of Chotanagpur plateau (Jharkhand) apart from unique Bandher dance (Kerala) and colourful folk dances of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and North East states in the country.

The University Sports Board Pavilion also witnessed on the spot painting depicting various facets of life on the canvas. It included animated portrayal of terrorist attack in Mumbai and festivities of Spandan that received special attention.
