Birsa Nagar

Named after freedom fighter Birsa Munda, who fought against the British during India's freedom struggle. Birsanagar is the biggest residential area in Jamshedpur. It started out as a huge squatter settlement that was later legalised. However the building pattern in this area is irregular as they were privately constructed.
