Ankit, Praveen win with record breaking performance

Jamshedpur (PTI): Ankit Sharma created a new national record in the long jump event in the under-18 category with an effort of 7.35m on the inaugural day of the 20th National Inter Zonal Athletics Meet, here on Sunday.

Ankit, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, bettered Sudhir Kumar's record of 7.33m, which he set last year in the Junior National.

Parveen Kumar of Haryana won gold in 400m in the under-20 category with a new meet record as he clocked 47.74s. eclipsing 48.0s, set by of P.I.Sebastian.
