Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has requested Railway Ministry to allocate around 6 new trains originating from Ranchi & Tatanagar. He explained that Ranchi, being the capital of Jharkhand, is not connected directly to major cities through rail route. "Ranchi has no direct link to many parts of the country," Munda said in a letter to Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, according to a state government statement issued on Tuesday. "Industrial cities like Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad do not have proper rail link with other parts of the country," he added.

Maoists leaders are very active in recruiting local unemployed youngsters. And youngsters most of the time used to work for them just for some financial gains. Jharkhand Jangal Bachao Andolan has taken up the issues of training the local youth about methods and benefits better farming such as turmeric cultivation. Gopal Singh Munda, a resident of Raisindri village said the cultivation of turmeric was a welcome development.
