48th National Open Athletics Championship from September 8

Kochi, Sept 01: The 48th National Open Athletics Championship will start on September 8 at the Maharaja's College Ground here.

The championship, to be held on the synthetic track, will last till September 11.

Last time the state had hosted the National Open Athletics Championship was in 1985, Kerala Athletic Association (KAA), said here on Monday.

In the last Open Athletic Championship, which was held at Jamshedpur, Railways had emerged as the champion.

An organising committee with the chairmanship of E S Jose, who is also the Chairman of Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been formed.
