Jharkhand to introduce Right to Food Act
Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Arjun Munda has just announced that the Government is working on a bill aimed at providing Right to Food - a step further than the central government's upcoming Food Security Bill.
"We are planning to launch a Right to Food Act in Jharkhand so that every individual and child can have access to quality food," said Munda.
Arjun Munda was at Ramdas Bhatta Community Centre to inaugurate Jharkhand's first centralized kitchen to provide food for the midday meal scheme.
"We do not want to wait for the Union government to take action. Instead, we want to ensure no underprivileged individual remains hungry in Jharkhand" Munda added.
This is a very good initiative by the Jharkhand government, and hope the bill gets approval in the upcoming session.
