Santhali films are deprived of government help: AISFA

All India Santali Film Association (AISFA) has lamented that Jharkhand state is not doing enough to promote Santhali films which are of great potential.

"There is no dearth of talent and Jharkhand is full of scenic beauty. But the approach of the state government is not encouraging to promote Santali and other regional films," President of AISFA, Ramesh Hansda, said here today.

AISFA has raised some funds for All India Santali Film Festival-cum-Jharkhand Cine awards, and will screening several films of Santali, Nagpuri and Kotha language from across the country including West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. Best film will get opportunity to participate at Mumbai film festival.

Its high time Jhaarkhand state government starts helping the local media and film industry to keep them alive and going.
