After a gap of nearly 19th month, night running of long distance trains will start between Kharagpur and Tatanagar railway stations.
In May 2010, after Gyaneswari Express accident, all night trains were stopped on this route from 10PM to 5 AM.
From tonight itself, Howrah- Ranchi/Hatia Express will run as per its old timing and on its old route via-Khagarpur-Tatanagar section instead of the diverted route via Asansol-Dhanbad.
The same is true for other trains such as Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, Puri-Hardwar Utkal Express and New Delhi-Puri Purushottam Express.
The Mumbai-bound trains from Howrah such as Howrah-Mumbai Mail and Howrah-LTT Gyaneswari Express and two other west-bound trains namely Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express and Howrah-Porbandar Express will return to their original timings and the route via Kharagpur-Tatanagar section latest by January 15, it is learnt. The same is true for Howrah-Korapur Sambaleswari Express, the sources added
Finally major relief to people travelling on Howrah-Mumbai route.
