Arjun Munda seeks new trains from Tatangar and Ranchi

Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has requested Railway Ministry to allocate around 6 new trains originating from Ranchi & Tatanagar. He explained that Ranchi, being the capital of Jharkhand, is not connected directly to major cities through rail route.

"Ranchi has no direct link to many parts of the country," Munda said in a letter to Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, according to a state government statement issued on Tuesday.

"Industrial cities like Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad do not have proper rail link with other parts of the country," he added.

For Jamshedpur, he requested to introduce a new train on the Tatanagar-Varanasi-Haridwar-Dehradun.

He also requested to increase the frequency of few trains that are heavily used by commuters.
