Jamshedpur Women's College (JWC) has been honored by postal department to mark 60th anniversary. Jamshedpur Women's College is the first educational institution in Jharkhand statte to have postage stamp issued with its image. "The postal department has agreed to our proposal and the stamp will be released to mark the opening of a year-long celebration," said JWC principal, Dr Shukla Mohanty. "It's an honour for the college, which is one of the oldest educational institutions of the state," said the principal.

Tata Steel?s Tribal Cultural Society launched Project Aakansha at its premises to facilitate education for the children of ethnic communities of the society. Jharkhand Chief Minister Shri Arjun Munda has just announced that the Government is working on a bill aimed at providing Right to Food - a step further than the central government's upcoming Food Security Bill. "We are planning to launch a Right to Food Act in Jharkhand so that every individual and child can have access to quality food," said Munda. Arjun Munda was at Ramdas Bhatta Community Centre to inaugurate Jharkhand's first centralized kitchen to provide food for the midday meal scheme.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Mumda has approved the proposal to construct a greenfield airport in Jamshedpur. The approval came after due consideration of traffic flow in the city and keeping future growth in mind. A high level committee will look for suitable land in Gamharia locality. This team will be responsible for identifying location, processing papers, identify number of people being displaced, finding suitable place for displaced people, infrastructure requirements, traffic requirements, etc
